1. Please give us a bit of background on who you are and what you do? (what is your backstory/your business)
I am a young entrepreneur looking to make a difference in B2B world, especially developing and growing sales teams. My first business venture in 2013 ‘Open Education’, was responsible for recruiting students for our University partners domestically and internationally. Since then I have overseen the increase in B2B sales by 56 per cent.
I have since moved on from ‘Open Education’ due to a shift in the market with legislation around Vet Fee Help & HECS. This brings me to my second business, ‘Foccus Group’, which is a unique agency that focuses on educating, up-skilling, talent searching and highly personalised recruitment services. We use the latest technologies in our field to ensure that every aspect of what we do is effective.
We offer a range of testing, training and consulting techniques to help candidates and our clients to make the right decision with regards to their future. Foccus has access to the best sales talent. We have the capability to source the perfect candidates, starting from Internal Salespeople all the way up to the Sales Director
2. What advice can you give other entrepreneurs that are struggling to break through the glass ceiling in reaching their goals?
For most entrepreneurs, it can be a lonely journey and this is something that you will need to adapt to pretty quickly. The alternative is losing your momentum and not being successful. Most entrepreneurs I interact with always ask “How do I start? Where do I start?”. The answer is JUST START! Learn from your mistakes. Failing is a priceless lesson which will teach you a lot about yourself, enabling you to grow as a person which in turn will reflect in your business. Self-development is HUGE and should not be undervalued.
3. What inspires and motivates you? What wakes you up every morning, make you get the work done and do it all over again the next day?
Inspiration is critical in any business - you must be creative and act quickly. My inspiration comes from self-development, learning about myself, my attributes whether they be strengths or weaknesses. This self-reflection gives me confidence. It is important to know what your values are, what makes you happy. If I am not satisfied then I will keep fighting until I am. I wake up every morning because I am on a mission to make a difference. I want to change the way people recruit and enforce the truism that there has never been a business that has succeeded without a strong sales team!
4. How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors? What makes you unique?
We offer personal service specifically for your brand. As the owner of a company that is hungry to succeed. I will not stop until I am satisfied that we have the PERFECT candidate for you. We do not recruit, we purely headhunt our talent and will find the BEST talent, most of whom are not on the market. We do not advertise on job platforms such as Seek, Indeed, LinkedIn etc.. To reiterate…We purely headhunt, we have developed our database to be able to provide the most successful sales talent available. We like to call it the black market.
5. What are three business & life lessons you have learned throughout your journey?
Surround yourself with the best and never settle.
