1.  Please give us a bit of background on who you are and what you do? (what is your backstory/your business)

My name is Lisa, I am the third child and grew up in a single Mamma home in Cape Town. I met the love of my life Allan at 26 years old, he has 3 children - I have never wanted any - Don't plan your life! I love helping people and this started when I was young. I own a mobile massage company, I am one of the top Nuskin sales leaders in Cape Town. Allan and I own LA Barista, a mobile coffee business. in 2016 after 8 years of love...I came close to leaving Allan over money dysfunctions....this is what set me on a course to become a certified financial coach "The Money Coaching Institute, California" This work is what saved our marriage. Since I had other successful businesses I was doing Love Yourself Wealthy half arsed!

Over the year past year, I have experienced more people splitting up over money and committing suicide. Money is high up on the list for creating the set of circumstances that lead to these tragedies. Money is a stressor and it is up to me to reach people, to teach them that we need to do the internal "yucky" emotional work to shift our behaviors.

It is deeply fulfilling and transformational work.... I am pushing my comfort zone and will be speaking on the Pecha Kucha stage on 5 March. I need to get my personal story of vulnerability out there so I can keep couples together and in love like Allan and I. We are happier than ever since achieving this new found work-financial intimacy.

2.  What are three business & life lessons you have learned throughout your journey?

Choose a business model that has minimal to no overhead expenses

As an example - Massage in Motion (we do not pay therapists a salary, they pay us a commission. Eliminating the expense of renting a salon as we travel to people's homes. Our mobile coffee business is similar. We have closed our 2 cafes which had extremely high overheads, opting for the mobile approach.

Love Yourself wealthy is the same, ensure that you have no expenses on the first of every month - It’s liberating!

Branding and marketing are not an expense they are an INVESTMENT

“I am enough”, is a lesson I am still learning. I have been holding myself back, as my relationship with money isn't perfect yet! I then realized that psychologists minds are not perfect either however that doesn’t stop them from helping people.

Confidence comes with experience so don't wait until you perfect...that day never comes....the more confident you become the more your bank balance will increase. 

You have to put in the time...

I would strongly recommend public speaking too.....this is my biggest challenge. “Punch fear in the face” is one of my favorite expressions.

3.  What advice can you give other entrepreneurs that are struggling to break through the glass ceiling in reaching their goals?

Write a list of 50 reasons why you have chosen your business.


Your business needs to focus more on serving people and what you are doing for them, than what you are going to get out of it.

If you are only focusing on the money.....eakkkkkkk! This needs to change!

4.  When & how did your big shift take place?

Follow the flow....Last year I was interviewed on 3 radio stations and asked to do a few talks...I was so resistant to doing this money work, as it was easier to focus on my already established businesses. Doors were opening for me and I was not opening up to these opportunities.

I met two ladies at a dinner and they were sharing their experiences on the pain of divorce. I knew I had the story and the qualifications to help so many people., and if I did not take ‘Love Yourself wealthy’ to the next level, I would be responsible for more couples splitting up and more suicides.

5.  What inspires and motivates you? What wakes you up every morning, make you get the work done and do it all over again the next day?

The feedback I get from clients gets me up every morning with a clear focus on why I am here....sometimes our life path is CHALLENGING. I was under the illusion that this should be easy. I would recommend choosing YOUR OWN challenges or else the universe will choose them for you! 

GROWTH is inevitable. 

6.  How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors? What makes you unique?

I am of the belief there is enough business for everyone. I do not have competitors. Some people will resonate with me and some won't. It is super clear why I am unique. I always speak the truth and am the most openly, vulnerable person I know…next to Brene Brown!

I used to spend so much time criticizing myself, it was a huge source of frustration and it used to make me so emotional. I now see my experiences and vulnerability as my super power. People feel comfortable and free to tell me anything and everything in a short space of time. They feel safe.

7.  What do you think is the biggest trend we will see in 2019 within the entrepreneur space

More people will believe in themselves and go out and carve their way. There is so much support and so much information at our fingertips to do anything. There really are no excuses!
