What are the key factors that got you to where you are today?
I worked in the cruise industry as an HR & event coordinator for almost 8 years with 60 different nationalities, travelling the world.
What is the key thing you want people to know about you?
I have great passion for my profession and for the people I work with.
What has been some of your greatest successes / achievements?
During my undergrad I did an exchange program in France which enhanced my interest in learning different cultures and travelling. Throughout my career I have created eminent leadership development programs that previous companies I have worked with are still using today. I pioneered the HR role on Disney’s Island Castaway Cay. While working full time for a Multi Billion Dollar Global Brand, I achieved an Executive MBA. I take pride in a 96% client satisfaction rating for 5 consecutive years and I single-handedly led a personal benefit program for 22, 000 employees. I am also a culture trainer in French and English.

What has been the hardest part of being an entrepreneur?
Knowing that there is so much to do and understanding that it does not all have to be done by you.
What are the 3 things about entrepreneurship that you experienced that no one told you about?
The immense personal gratification you get from helping an organization thrive and fully and whole heartedly knowing it’s because of the guidance and coaching you provided.
When it rains, it pours! Clients all want you at the same time for the same deadline. (By no means am I complaining, it’s flattering to be appreciated!)
You need to be comfortable with having limited to no cash flow to get things started.
How important is it to have a business coach & what significant role in change has your coach played in your business journey?
A business coach is someone to bounce ideas off of; someone who has most likely gone through what you are going through. Therefore, learning from a coach can save you time and money and help with your increased success.
What 3 core advice principals will you give women that is wanting to start their own business?
DO IT! Create a plan, get some guidance and jump right in.
Remember anyone and everyone who has supported you, they will continue to be your best supporters.
Do not let your fears or other people’s fears and negativity get the best of you. Stay positive and believe in yourself.
How do you overcome rejection?
I make an effort to understand from the client why I was rejected in order to learn from the experience and keep moving forward.
How do you stay motivated and what keeps you going?
I like to meditate and visualize my goals and continue to work on my self-confidence.
I schedule time to exercise and to “unplug”.
When I have a speech to prepare for or a big project to do, I listen to music that energizes me.

Listening to verbal and non-verbal cues as well as asking questions for clarification. Understanding your client with active listening and effective communication is key.
