QUESTIONS:

Please give us a bit of background on yourself

My mother and I emigrated from Medellin, Colombia to the United States when I was 10 years old. I grew up in the state of Florida where I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a minor in Business. Shortly after receiving my diploma I dove deep into the Real Estate industry. During my first full year in Real Estate, I closed my first million-dollar deal where I represented the buyer. That was one amongst 30+ transactions that took place that same year, giving me plenty of exposure to quickly become very knowledgeable in the field and known in the Luxury Market. I quickly fell deeply in love with the industry and making a difference in people’s lives and to me, it's a tremendous pleasure helping people buy and/or sell their homes as well as fulfilling their dreams. I don’t believe in ‘closing transactions,’ instead, I pride myself on building strong relationships with my clients and treating them as I would with family. I consider myself a natural-born leader and constantly seek growth in both lives and all aspects of the business. I spend my rare free time enjoying water activities, meditating, doing yoga, traveling, reading books, and spending time with family and friends. I also credit much of my success in taking a deep dive into self-development which has in turn allowed me to develop a sophisticated level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness. I am also an avid philanthropist, supporting various local charities, including local organizations such as Miami Model Citizens, where I am also an active ambassador.

What are some of your biggest achievements throughout your journey?

One of my greatest achievements has been obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice before 21, all while also working on and growing my Real Estate business. After graduating from Florida International University, I concentrated mainly on Real Estate, among other things, and—through hard work and perseverance—closed over $5 Million in sales in 2019. This year, I proudly purchased and successfully renovated my first home at the young age of 23.

What are 3 business principles that are of core value to you?

The 3 core values that I believe are key elements in order to thrive in any relationship, whether personal or business, are honesty, communication, and commitment. Without the 3, building long-lasting and meaningful relationships would be impossible. In my opinion, a successful business can only prosper when you have long-lasting, meaningful relationships.

What is the hardest part of being an entrepreneur?

I find that the most challenging part of being an entrepreneur is developing a strong sense of accountability. Efficiency and commitment are derived from accountability. As an entrepreneur, it’s crucial that you, not only develop a strong sense of accountability, but also remain liable and responsible for yourself, your actions, and your words. This also includes managing your time wisely. Oftentimes, we find ourselves spending time on things that don’t support our vision, goals, and/or well being. It’s relatively easy to derail, so staying committed with your end goal in mind is key.

How do you stand out in this digital world?

I utilize social media to brand myself as well as generate exposure. By providing quality content and great and relatable information—on all relevant platforms—I am indirectly selling my services to my audience and staying top-of-mind for both returning and potential clients. Moreover, I make sure that my content is engaging, providing my followers with a variety of posts and knowledge ranging from fitness to culinary, mindful practices, Real Estate, and so on. I also share a glimpse of my personal everyday life including my home renovation process. I want people to feel like they can relate to me far beyond just Real Estate.

What was one of the biggest mistakes that you have made throughout your journey and what lesson did you learn from it?

I believe that all the decisions and paths I’ve taken during my life have all been part of a ‘bigger picture’ and have all played a significant role in molding me into the well-rounded woman I am today, in both business and my personal life. I owe my mature level of emotional intelligence to certain life obstacles I’ve had to face and how I’ve chosen to perceive them as a lesson and a vehicle to growth and awakening rather than sorrow and suffering.

What is your key to success?

Gratitude and perspective. When you have an outlook of gratitude and view everything that is “thrown at you” with a positive perspective, it is really easy to remain on the right track. I don’t believe success is a destination, instead, it’s a life long journey comprised of small daily steps and obstacles that all lead in the right direction.

What does success mean to you?

Success to me means happiness. Success is a lifelong journey characterized by hard-work and comprised of many milestones—no matter how big or small. Many people believe that happiness is something that occurs as a result of something else, for example, achieving a certain goal. While reaching our goals is, undoubtedly, a very exciting milestone, this mindset of “I’ll be happy when…,” can be never-ending. For me, happiness is a constant state of mind. It is not a result of our circumstances. Every day we must make the decision to favor optimism during the good times as well as the unfavorable times and learn to celebrate even our tiniest wins along the way.
